![]() Using the same procedure as in the last post on importing data, but choosing “unequal length” in the first frame (after Data menu -> text to column) gave a perfect default match to what I thought would be somewhat messy. The first variable though was of unequal length, included district indicator sometimes with a space between and if not, spaces in front of the first digits, as district was added to the municipal indicator in some but not all cases (see brief data description below). ![]() Previous post on importing data to Stata will clarify the intentions and setup of this post.Īnother dataset I received was a bit more structured, variables where separated with non-symmetrical spaces.
